Abigail Treviño is a Coastal Bend small business owner and photographer.  Abigail’s strong love for literacy and education inspired Abigail to found The Traveling Library in 2021. Through her non-profit work, she aims to increase accessibility to literacy.

Emily graduated from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in May 2022 with a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology, specialization in Sports Management and a minor in Business Administration. She is currently a Case Manager for Communities in Schools of the Coastal Bend at Calallen High School. In her spare time, you can find her at a sporting event, reading a book, or spending time with her dogs, Harper Lee and Maverick. Working with The Traveling Library as the Secretary was wonderful and she looks forward to her new role as the Vice President.

Rachel Trevino is a Pre-K teacher at a local school in Corpus Christi,Tx. She has been working for the diocese of Corpus Christi for almost 18 years. On her free time, Rachel enjoys traveling with her family; working out and crafting.

With over ten years’ experience in fostering, establishing and strengthening community
relationships, Margarita E. Velasquez is a dynamic part of the Corpus Christi area. Being
native born and raised in the Coastal Bend, she possesses a unique view of the
possibilities as well as the challenges to this special part of Texas.
Having earned her MBA from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi and her BS in Business
Administration degree from the University of the Incarnate Word, as well as being trilingual
(English, Spanish and ASL), few barriers impede her connecting and communicating with
other leaders.
Her abilities to work with others have earned her positions of leadership in several
organizations, and she currently is serving on the Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas
Board, Young Professionals of the Coastal Bend and The Traveling Library.
Margarita is a strong woman who lives an active lifestyle but is also humble and dedicated
to her faith and beliefs. Honed in the fires of personal challenges, she is empathetic to
those who suffer and is always willing to volunteer her time, her intelligence or her energy.

Vanessa was an elementary school teacher for 8 years before becoming a school librarian. She is a native Corpus Christi girl, who started her higher education career at Del Mar College. She recently graduated from the University of North Texas with a Masters in Information Science. Vanessa loves helping children discover new books and giving her students reading challenges. You can find her at a local bookstore checking out the latest graphic novels for kids with her two daughters. As a mom, she knows the vital role parents play in developing their child's love of literacy. As an educator, she knows the challenges students face in the classroom. She is passionate about spreading the joy of reading and is not afraid to recommend a book to anyone.
