Valentine's Day Writing Activities

By: Sydney Spangler

Celebrate Valentine's Day while encouraging your little one to write with these four writing activities!

1. Postcards

Postcards are a wonderful way to send "I love you" to a special someone. You and your child can personalize a postcard with a little creativity!

This postcard was made with card stock and markers!

2. Love Letters

Another great way to touch someone's heart is with a love letter. Write three things you love most about a person to let them know how much you love them.

You only need paper, a pen, and an envelope. You can also decorate your letter with markers!

3. Valentine Heart Word

Practice learning one syllable words with your child by brainstorming Valentine's Day words such as love, care, and hugs! Then have your child write their favorite words in a heart.

4. My Heart is Full

Sit down with your child and talk about the things they love most...what makes their heart full! Then give them some paper to illustrate their ideas. To go along with it, they can write what made their hearts full and why it was important to them!

We hope you and your little one enjoy these activities. Happy Valentine's Day!
